Learn the foundations of Chinese Medicine Theory and how to masterfully apply these principles within a yoga setting. In this four day comprehensive training, you will gain an in-depth understanding of Yin Yang Theory and Five Element Theory and practical tools for incorporating these principles into your classes. You will also learn how to use these tools to evaluate the needs of individual students and assist them on their specific healing journeys.
In this in person four day interactive training, you will receive daily lectures, physical practices, and interactive discussions to expand your therapeutic toolkit. You will learn to weave the art of TCM with yoga to help your students cultivate health in their own lives. You will leave feeling confident applying TCM practices to your yoga class plans including use of acupressure and supporting Qi through specific asana, meditation, and breath practices. This course is taught by Amy Ford, MSW psychotherapist, E-RYT 500, Yoga Medicine® Therapeutic Specialist, and YACEP. She is the founder Up Yoga Center, Virtual Yoga Studio and Teacher Development School, and has taught over 4000 hours of in person and virtual yoga classes as well as various retreats, workshops, and trainings on mental health, yoga, and TCM principles. Her classes draw on her knowledge of and experience with functional anatomy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, mindfulness and trauma sensitive techniques. Her background as a clinical therapist allows her to offer a super personalized and therapeutic experience for her students. She is passionate about offering very individualized care and support, as well as cultivating the next generation of yoga teachers. |

Learn tools to create a safe, supportive, and healing environment for all of your students. In this training, you will learn the neuroscience of trauma and how this connects to ancient yoga philosophy, essential elements for creating Trauma and Grief Informed Yoga classes suitable for a variety of populations, and practical tools to regulating the nervous system through yoga interventions. This training offers research-based insights on how trauma and grief impact individuals and communities and how yoga and mindfulness interventions can assist our students on their healing journeys.
In this in person four day interactive training, you will receive daily lectures, physical practices, and interactive discussions to expand your therapeutic toolkit. You will master teaching Trauma and Grief Informed Yoga in a variety of settings including inpatient populations, community classes, and one-on one. You will understand appropriate vs. inappropriate aims of Trauma and Grief Informed Yoga and gain confidence in your role as a yoga teacher working with traumatized and bereaved populations. This course is taught by Amy Ford, MSW psychotherapist, E-RYT 500, Yoga Medicine® Therapeutic Specialist, and YACEP. She is the founder of Up Yoga Center, Virtual Yoga Studio and Teacher Development School. Amy worked as a full time bereavement and trauma therapist before becoming a full time yoga teacher and educator. She now combines yoga and mental health interventions to offer a super personalized and therapeutic experience for her students. She offers small therapeutic yoga groups virtually to students all over the world and leads retreats and teacher trainings both in person and online. She is passionate about offering very individualized care and support, as well as cultivating the next generation of yoga teachers. |
